ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

PM Joseph (Pty) Ltd is seeking qualified and experienced professionals to join its team on an upcoming civil construction project. The company urgently needs to fill two key positions: an Earthmoving Foreman and a Safety Officer. These are temporary positions based in Pretoria North.

POSITION 1: EARTHMOVING FOREMAN

The Earthmoving Foreman will play a key role in supervising and coordinating earthmoving activities on the construction site. This position requires a thorough understanding of civil construction processes, particularly those related to earthmoving, site preparation, and foundation operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising workers and subcontractors, ensuring that tasks are completed according to project plans, schedules, and quality standards. The Earthmoving Foreman will also monitor work progress, ensure the proper use of machinery and equipment, and maintain effective communication with project managers and other site personnel.

In addition, the Foreman will ensure that all work is performed safely and that employees follow established safety procedures. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage teams efficiently are required.

POSITION 2: SAFETY OFFICER

The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations on the construction site. This position is essential for maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors involved in the project.

The selected candidate will oversee safety procedures, conduct site inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement measures to prevent accidents or injuries. The Safety Officer will also ensure that all workers are aware of safety policies and comply with legal and company safety regulations.

Another important responsibility will be maintaining safety documentation, conducting safety briefings, and collaborating with management on incident investigations when necessary. The candidate must have a strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and be able to enforce safety standards on site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the following requirements:

✔ Relevant experience in the civil construction industry
✔ Earthmoving Foreman candidates must have proven experience supervising earthmoving operations
✔ Safety Officer candidates must hold a valid SAMTRAC certification or equivalent
✔ High reliability, responsibility, and commitment to professional standards
✔ Ability to work effectively in a construction project environment
✔ Availability to start immediately

Candidates with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety will be given preference.
