A prestigious medical center located in Modderfontein, Gauteng, is seeking a professional, organized, and responsible medical receptionist to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the medical center’s reception area, ensuring that patients receive professional and friendly service at all times.

This position is ideal for candidates with prior experience in a medical setting or healthcare administration. We require a confident, meticulous individual capable of multitasking in a busy reception area. The medical receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming patients, answering incoming phone calls, and managing appointments for doctors and other healthcare staff. In addition, the receptionist will ensure that patient information is accurately recorded and updated in the system, maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records. Therefore, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential qualities for this position.

Another key responsibility is managing patient payments through the clinic’s point-of-sale (POS) system. The selected candidate will process payments, issue receipts, and assist with basic billing administration as needed. Consequently, it is crucial that they are comfortable handling financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.

The medical receptionist will also be responsible for general administrative tasks, such as managing patient records, coordinating appointments, answering phones, and assisting with any reception duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the clinic. WORK SCHEDULE

🕒 Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📅 Alternate Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

The selected candidate must be available to work the indicated hours and demonstrate responsibility and punctuality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

✔ Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration
✔ Proficiency in computer skills and experience with booking or patient management systems
✔ Excellent communication skills and professional telephone etiquette
✔ Strong organizational and multitasking skills
✔ Experience with switchboards, appointment management, and patient records
✔ Ability to process patient payments using a point-of-sale (POS) terminal
✔ Own vehicle and valid driver’s license
✔ High accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality in handling patient information
