ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Selected candidates will be part of a professional Armed Response Unit responsible for responding to alarm activations, handling emergency incidents, and conducting patrols in designated areas. This position requires individuals with the ability to react quickly, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain fluid communication with control room operators, colleagues, and clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Armed Response Officers will be responsible for responding rapidly to alarm activations and emergency situations reported by the control room. Officers must address incidents promptly and professionally, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to secure the area and provide assistance to clients when necessary.
The position also includes conducting regular patrols within assigned areas to maintain a visible security presence and help prevent criminal activity. Officers must remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity or security issues in accordance with company procedures.
In addition, selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring that all response operations meet the company’s high standards of professionalism and customer service. Officers will interact directly with clients and, therefore, must maintain a respectful and professional demeanor when representing the organization.
Preparing accurate incident reports and maintaining clear communication with the operations team are also important aspects of the role.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be registered with PSIRA and comply with all legal regulations for working in the private security sector. A valid Response or Cash Transport (CIT) certificate is required for this position.
Candidates must also hold the South African Police Service (SAPS) Firearms Competency certification, which demonstrates their qualification to handle firearms safely and responsibly, in accordance with legal and operational requirements.
A valid driver’s license is essential, as officers will be required to drive response vehicles when responding to incidents and conducting patrols.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, discipline, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. They should also be in good physical condition, alert, and able to respond quickly when necessary.
